A “300% up to €3,000” only gives you €3,000 if you deposit enough to reach the cap; beyond that, every extra euro deposited earns nothing. Of the 19 casinos in our selection whose first-deposit bonus cap we know, 11 give €500 of bonus at most, however much you deposit. On a €2,000 deposit, only 4 go above €1,000 of bonus: HeavyBet, Kings Chance, WinBeast and Golden Lion.
And a big bonus is not automatically a good one: with high wagering, the required betting volume costs more on average than the bonus brings. Here are the numbers, followed by the two things big players often find out too late: the maximum bet while a bonus is active, and withdrawal caps.
How much bonus for a €500, €1,000 or €2,000 deposit?
The table works out the first-deposit bonus for three amounts from each offer’s percentage and cap. “Cap reached at” is the deposit above which the bonus stops growing. Sorted from the largest bonus on €2,000 to the smallest; ties follow our ranking. A paused casino drops out of the table automatically.

First-deposit bonuses from our casino data (euro offers with a published cap). Free spins are not counted. The casino’s cashier is what counts at the time you deposit.
The takeaway: the headline percentage only applies up to the cap. A 400% bonus capped at €1,000 pays €1,000 from a €250 deposit; on €2,000 it is worth just 50% of the deposit. For a big deposit, compare caps, not percentages. If you plan several deposits, the later steps of the welcome package have their own caps, covered in our article on reload bonuses.
The real price of a big bonus: betting volume
A bonus can only be withdrawn after a set amount of betting (the wagering requirement). On a slot that returns 96% of stakes, every euro wagered costs 4 cents on average. The calculation below starts from a €1,000 deposit: bonus received, betting required depending on what the wagering applies to (bonus only, or deposit + bonus), the average loss on that volume, and what is left of your starting balance on average.
| Casino | Bonus | Wagering | Betting required | Average loss | Average left (of €1,000 + bonus) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kings Chance | €1,500 | 1x | €1,500 | €60 | €2,440 (more than the deposit) |
| Lucky Treasure Casino | €500 | No wagering | €0 | €0 | €1,500 (more than the deposit) |
| Spin Dynasty | €500 | No wagering | €0 | €0 | €1,500 (more than the deposit) |
| Tenobet | €500 | 25x | €12,500 | €500 | €1,000 |
| BetNinja | €200 | 30x | €6,000 | €240 | €960 |
| Cosmobet | €500 | 30x | €15,000 | €600 | €900 |
| Slotaza | €500 | 35x | €17,500 | €700 | €800 |
| Nomini | €500 | 35x | €17,500 | €700 | €800 |
| Spinanga | €500 | 35x | €17,500 | €700 | €800 |
| Pokobet | €500 | 40x | €20,000 | €800 | €700 |
| Celsius | €500 | 40x | €20,000 | €800 | €700 |
| Party Spinz | €1,000 | 33x | €33,000 | €1,320 | €680 |
| Golden Mina | €1,000 | 35x | €35,000 | €1,400 | €600 |
| WinBeast | €1,250 | 40x | €50,000 | €2,000 | €250 |
| HeavyBet | €3,000 | 45x | €135,000 | €5,400 | Balance runs out before the end, on average |
| Golden Lion | €2,000 | 50x | €100,000 | €4,000 | Balance runs out before the end, on average |
| Velobet | €1,000 | 30x (deposit + bonus) | €60,000 | €2,400 | Balance runs out before the end, on average |
| Lussurio | €1,000 | 30x (deposit + bonus) | €60,000 | €2,400 | Balance runs out before the end, on average |
| WelleBet | €100 | 30x (deposit + bonus) | €33,000 | €1,320 | Balance runs out before the end, on average |
Method: betting required = bonus (or deposit + bonus) × wagering; average loss = betting × 4% (96% RTP). These are averages: a real session can end well above or well below.
The 25x rule. With wagering on the bonus alone, each euro of bonus means betting “wagering” euros, which cost 4% on average. So the bonus is worth taking on average as long as wagering stays below 25x (25 × 4% = 100%). At 40x, each euro of bonus costs €1.60 on average; at 45x, €1.80. The bigger the bonus, the bigger that loss.
The result for a €1,000 deposit: only Kings Chance, Lucky Treasure Casino and Spin Dynasty leave you, on average, with more than you deposited, and at 5 casinos the average loss exceeds the whole balance (deposit + bonus) before wagering is complete. Kings Chance stands out: its 1x wagering only requires €1,500 of betting for €1,500 of bonus, and its €10,000 cap is only reached on a €6,667 deposit.
The deposit + bonus trap. When wagering also applies to the deposit, the deposit is what weighs most. At WelleBet, the first-deposit bonus is capped at €100: deposit €1,000 and you get €100, but must bet €33,000, which is 330 times the bonus received. For a large deposit, this kind of bonus is almost always one to decline.
Also note: at Lussurio and WelleBet, every deposit must be wagered 3 times before a withdrawal, even without a bonus. On a €2,000 deposit, that is €6,000 of betting. Our article on deposit wagering explains this rule.
“High Roller” bonuses: really bigger?
In our current selection, one casino offers a dedicated High Roller bonus that replaces the standard first-deposit bonus: HeavyBet (100% up to €1,500 + 100 FS, from €500, 45x wagering). You would expect it to beat the standard bonus; the numbers say otherwise.
| HeavyBet: deposit | Standard bonus (300%, cap €3,000) | High Roller bonus (100%, cap €1,500) |
|---|---|---|
| €500 | €1,500 bonus · €67,500 to bet · average left €0 | €500 bonus · €22,500 to bet · average left €100 |
| €1,000 | €3,000 bonus · €135,000 to bet · average left €0 | €1,000 bonus · €45,000 to bet · average left €200 |
| €2,000 | €3,000 bonus · €135,000 to bet · average left €0 | €1,500 bonus · €67,500 to bet · average left €800 |
For each of these amounts, the standard bonus pays at least as much as the High Roller one, with more free spins (300 versus 100). The High Roller offer has a single measurable advantage: because the bonus is smaller, so is the betting volume, and the average loss with it. In other words, it is not a better bonus, just a lighter one. If your aim is to keep as much of your deposit as possible, playing without a bonus is simpler.
Before choosing, read the offer’s own terms (excluded games, max bet, time limit): they can differ from the standard bonus. Our article on the hidden rules of a bonus lists what to check.
The max bet: the brake on big players
While a bonus is active, most casinos cap the stake per spin, often at a few euros. For a player used to betting big, that changes everything: the required volume has to be reached with small stakes, which means a lot of spins.
- Celsius: €5 max bet per spin, so at least 4,000 spins for the €20,000 of betting on a €1,000 deposit.
- Velobet: €5 max bet per spin, so at least 12,000 spins for the €60,000 of betting on a €1,000 deposit.
- WelleBet: €3 max bet per spin, so at least 11,000 spins for the €33,000 of betting on a €1,000 deposit.
Going over the max bet, even once, can be enough to void the bonus and its winnings. If you want to play with big stakes, depositing without a bonus is the safest route.
Withdrawal caps: how long to cash out €10,000?
This is the question to ask before a big deposit, not after a big win. Most casinos limit withdrawals per day, week or month. Using the caps recorded in our reviews, we worked out how many days it takes to withdraw €10,000, not counting the processing time of each withdrawal.
| Casino | Withdrawal caps | To withdraw €10,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Golden Mina | €50,000/month | In one go |
| HunnyPlay | No limit stated | In one go |
| WinBeast | €5,000/day · €10,000/week · €20,000/month€1,000 per withdrawal while the account has 3 deposits or fewer | 2 days |
| BetNinja | €5,000/day · €16,000/week · €50,000/month | 2 days |
| WelleBet | €2,000/dayBy bank card; higher by e-wallet, crypto and for VIPs | 5 days |
| Cosmobet | €7,500/week · €15,000/month | 8 days |
| Velobet | €7,500/week · €15,000/month | 8 days |
| RealSpin | €5,000/week | 8 days |
| Lussurio | €500 per withdrawal · €1,000/day · €5,000/week · €20,000/month | 12 days |
| Golden Lion | €2,000/week | 29 days |
| Party Spinz | €5,000/month | 31 days |
Method: the maximum allowed is withdrawn every day, with 7-day weeks and 30-day months counted from the first withdrawal. Casinos that do not publish their caps are not listed.
With Golden Mina, HunnyPlay, WinBeast and BetNinja, €10,000 can be withdrawn in one or two days. At Golden Lion and Party Spinz, it takes more than four weeks: a low weekly or monthly cap turns a big win into a string of spread-out withdrawals. For the processing times we have seen, see our fast withdrawal tests.
Depositing a large amount: payment and verification
Payment method
Bank cards have a spending limit set by your bank, and prepaid vouchers are limited to small amounts. For a large deposit, bank transfer and cryptocurrencies are the best fit.
Identity checks
They are required at the first withdrawal at the latest, and a casino may ask about the source of funds for large amounts. Send your documents before playing: our KYC guide lists what is usually requested.
VIP programme
For a regular high-volume player, cashback and VIP rewards are often worth more than a welcome bonus, without heavy wagering. See our article on VIP programmes.
⚠️ Big deposit, big risk
A bonus does not reduce risk: it increases the betting volume, and so your exposure. Only deposit an amount you could lose entirely without being put in difficulty, set a deposit limit in your account before you start, and never try to win back a loss with a new deposit. If gambling becomes hard to control, our Responsible gambling page points you to help.
Checklist before a big deposit
- Compare the bonus cap, not the percentage
- Work out the betting volume: wagering on the bonus only, or on deposit + bonus?
- Check the max bet allowed while the bonus is active
- Compare the standard bonus and the High Roller offer for your amount
- Read the daily, weekly and monthly withdrawal caps
- Send your verification documents before playing
- Set a deposit limit in your account
Our bonus calculator runs these numbers for any offer and any deposit.
Frequently asked questions
What is a high roller bonus?
It is a bonus reserved for large deposits: it only activates above a high minimum (often €500) and replaces the standard first-deposit bonus. It is not necessarily more generous, so compare the amount you receive and the wagering for the deposit you actually plan to make.
How much do you need to deposit to count as a high roller?
There is no official threshold. The High Roller offers we have recorded start at a €500 deposit, and VIP programmes look at your betting volume over time rather than at a single deposit.
Should you take the bonus when depositing a large amount?
Only if the wagering is low. On slots that return 96% of stakes, every euro wagered costs 4 cents on average: above 25x wagering on the bonus alone, the average loss from the required betting exceeds the bonus. When wagering applies to deposit + bonus, a large deposit makes the betting volume explode.
Why can’t a big win be withdrawn in one go?
Because most casinos cap withdrawals per day, week or month. A €10,000 win can be cashed out in one or two days at some casinos and take more than a month at others. Check these caps before you deposit.
Does a large withdrawal mean more checks?
Often, yes. Identity verification (KYC) is required at the first withdrawal at most casinos, and for large amounts a casino may also ask where the deposited funds come from. Send your documents early so your withdrawal is not held up.
