You don’t need an app to play on your phone: every casino we list runs in a mobile browser, with the same account, bonus and cashier. Of the 15 casinos whose mobile access our review describes, 4 advertise a downloadable app, 2 offer a site you can install on your home screen (a “web app”), and 9 are browser-only.
So an app should not decide where you play. What matters on mobile is installing the right file (or none at all), knowing how to deposit and withdraw from your phone, and staying in control on a device that is always within reach.
App, web app or browser: how they differ
All three open the same casino. They differ in installation, notifications and the risk of picking up a fake file.
| Downloadable app | Web app (home screen) | Browser | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Installation | A file to install, on Android often from the casino’s own site | Two taps from the browser, nothing to download | None |
| Storage | Tens of MB | Next to nothing | None |
| Updates | Manual (or automatic through a store) | Automatic: it is the website | Automatic |
| Notifications | Yes, if you allow them | Sometimes | No |
| Main risk | Installing a fake app | Saving a fake site (check the address) | A phishing link |
| Account, bonus, cashier | Identical in all three cases: you log in to the same account | ||
For most players the web app is the sweet spot: an icon on the home screen, a full-screen view and no file to install or keep updated.
Why casino apps are rare in app stores
Apple and Google only accept real-money gambling apps when the operator holds a licence valid in the country where the app is distributed, and only in that country. The casinos we list hold offshore licences (Curaçao, Anjouan, Tobique…; see our casino licences comparison), so they usually take other routes.
- On Android, the app is often an APK file downloaded straight from the casino’s site, outside Google Play.
- On iPhone, you can’t download an installer the way you can on Android: outside the App Store there are only a handful of alternative stores, allowed in the European Union. An “iOS version” advertised by an offshore casino is therefore often a web app added to the home screen.
The golden rule: start from the official site
Only install a casino app from the link shown on the official site, once you are logged in to your account. An app carrying a casino’s name in a store, an ad or a private message may be a copy built to steal your login or your deposits. If a store listing names a developer with no connection to the casino, walk away.
What each casino offers on mobile
This table shows mobile access as described in our reviews, for the casinos we list whose review covers it. They are grouped by type of access, then in our ranking order. A paused casino drops off the list automatically.

“Announced”: an app presented by the casino and noted in our review. Download it only from the official site’s link. Casinos missing from the table also work in a browser, but our review does not detail their mobile offering.
If you really want an app, look at BetNinja, CrownSlots, Slott or Spinaura. For a home-screen icon without downloading anything, Cosmobet and Lussurio highlight their installable site, but the steps below work with any casino.
Adding a casino to your home screen, step by step
On iPhone (Safari)
- Open the casino’s site in Safari and check the address bar.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow).
- Choose “Add to Home Screen”, then Add.
- The casino icon sits with your other apps and the site opens full screen.
On Android (Chrome)
- Open the casino’s site in Chrome and check the address.
- Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right.
- Choose “Add to Home screen”, or “Install app” if the site offers it.
- Confirm: the icon appears on your home screen.
Installing an APK on Android
If the casino offers an Android app on its site, Android will ask you to allow your browser to “install unknown apps”. Grant it just for the install, then switch it off again in your phone’s settings (Apps section, settings of the browser you used). Keep Google Play Protect on: it also scans apps installed from outside the store.
Depositing and withdrawing from your phone
On mobile, your phone’s own payment methods are the most convenient way to deposit. Among the casinos we list, 10 accept Apple Pay (Velobet, Spin Million, BetFury, Winzter, Lussurio, WelleBet, Tenobet, Celsius, Nomini and Spinanga) and 8 accept Google Pay (Velobet, Spin Million, Lussurio, WelleBet, Tenobet, Celsius, Nomini and Spinanga), based on the payment methods we have recorded for 24 casinos.
| Method | On mobile | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Pay | Deposit confirmed with Face ID or Touch ID, no card number to type | The button mostly shows in Safari; withdrawals are rarely possible |
| Google Pay | Deposit in seconds from an Android phone | Mainly a deposit method: plan another way to withdraw |
| Crypto | The wallet on your phone scans the cashier’s QR code | Check the network (TRC20, ERC20…) before sending: a mistake can lose the funds |
| Bank card | 3-D Secure approval in your banking app | Some banks block payments to casinos |
Your phone is also how you’ll handle identity verification: photograph your ID flat, without glare and with all four corners visible, so it isn’t rejected and your first withdrawal isn’t held up. For withdrawal times casino by casino, see our fast withdrawal tests.
Staying safe on mobile
- Lock your phone (passcode, fingerprint or face): your casino account and payment methods are on it.
- Turn on two-factor authentication in your account if the casino offers it.
- Don’t tap bonus links sent by text or messaging apps: always log in from your icon or the address you know.
- Turn off promotional notifications if they nudge you to play again: you lose no bonus, offers stay visible in your account.
- Avoid public Wi-Fi for deposits and withdrawals, or switch to mobile data.
⚠️ A casino in your pocket needs watching
Mobile makes gambling available at any moment: on the bus, in bed, in a few seconds. That is the real difference with a computer, and it matters. Set a deposit limit in your casino account before you play, use your phone’s screen-time tracking, and don’t save your card if you’d rather a deposit took some effort. If gambling is getting hard to control, our Responsible gambling page points you to help.
Checklist before playing on mobile
- Open the casino from its official address, never from a link you were sent
- Install an app only through the official site’s link, or add the site to your home screen
- Pick a deposit method and check that a withdrawal method is available
- Upload your ID documents right after signing up, with sharp photos
- Set a deposit limit in your account
- Turn off promotional notifications if needed
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an app to play at an online casino on my phone?
No. Every casino we list works in your phone’s browser, with the same account, bonus and cashier as on a computer. An app or web app mainly gives you quicker access.
Why are online casinos missing from the App Store and Google Play?
Apple and Google only accept real-money gambling apps from operators licensed in the country where the app is offered. Casinos with an offshore licence (Curaçao, Anjouan…) therefore usually offer an Android file to download from their own site, or a web app.
Is a casino app I found in an app store the official one?
Not necessarily. Check the developer named on the listing and always start from the link shown on the casino’s official site. An app that borrows a casino’s name but is not linked from its site is best avoided.
Is the welcome bonus the same on mobile?
In the vast majority of cases, yes: the bonus is tied to your account, not your device. A few casinos add an app-only bonus, which then has its own terms.
Can I deposit with Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Yes, at casinos that accept them. They are mainly deposit methods: withdrawals often go through another method (bank transfer, e-wallet, crypto), so plan for that before depositing.
