Of the 25 casinos in our selection whose minimum we know, 18 ask for €20 to unlock the first-deposit bonus, 4 accept a first deposit of €10 or less, and 3 ask for more (€25 or €30). The lowest is BetFury, with a first tier from $5.

But the headline figure is not the whole story: payment methods have their own minimums, the minimum withdrawal can be much higher, and with a small deposit, a bonus’s wagering can cost more than you have. Here is how to get it right.

Three minimums not to confuse

1. The bonus minimum deposit

This is the number that matters if you want the welcome bonus. It can change from one tier to the next: at Velobet for example, €10 on the first deposit, then €20 for the following ones.

2. The payment method minimum

Cards usually follow the casino’s minimum. Prepaid vouchers such as Paysafecard start at €10. With crypto, some casinos set no minimum, but network fees matter.

3. The minimum withdrawal

The trap for small budgets. It is often higher than the minimum deposit: at Unique Casino, you need €100 to withdraw. Check it before depositing.

Bonus minimum deposit, casino by casino

This table shows the minimum deposit for the first-deposit bonus at each casino in our selection, from lowest to highest. At equal amounts, casinos follow our ranking order. It updates with our reviews: a paused casino drops off the list automatically.

Minimums taken from the casinos’ terms and our reviews. Offers can change: the casino cashier is what counts when you deposit.

On a €10 budget, the options with a bonus are therefore BetFury ($5), Velobet (€10), Lussurio (€10) and HunnyPlay (€10). Everywhere else, plan on €20 if you want the bonus, or play without one.

Small deposit plus bonus: do the maths before accepting

With €10, a bonus looks like a nice boost. Take a common example: a 150% bonus with 30x wagering. You deposit €10, the casino adds €15: you play with €25.

Wagering applies to…Amount to betExpected average loss (96% RTP)What is left on average
the bonus only (€15 × 30)€450€18€7
deposit + bonus (€25 × 30)€750€30€0: on average the balance runs out first

The logic: on a slot that pays back 96% of stakes, every euro bet costs 4 cents on average. The bigger the amount you must bet, the bigger the average loss, and a small balance cannot absorb it. These are averages: a session can end well above or well below, but they show why a small deposit with heavy wagering usually hits zero before you can withdraw.

Our bonus calculator runs these numbers for any offer, and our RTP guide explains where the 4% comes from.

Better options when playing small

  • Play without a bonus: your winnings can be withdrawn straight away, with nothing to wager. You can almost always decline the bonus when depositing.
  • Pick a no-wager bonus: Spin Dynasty (from €25) and Lucky Treasure Casino (from €30) offer a welcome bonus with no wagering requirement. The minimum deposit is higher, but there is nothing to wager. See our no-wager casino guide.
  • Prefer wagering on the bonus only, as low as possible: for the same bonus, the difference in amount to bet is huge (see the table).

Which payment method for a small deposit?

MethodFor a small amountGood to know
Bank cardThe simplest: follows the casino’s minimum, instant depositSome banks block payments to casinos
Paysafecard, NeosurfIdeal for a fixed budget: you only spend the voucher’s valueDeposit only: you will need another method to withdraw
USDT, LitecoinSuited to small amounts thanks to generally low network feesFor USDT, pick a low-cost network (TRC20 for example) that matches the one the casino shows
BitcoinPoorly suited to €10: network fees vary and can be a large share of the depositBest kept for larger amounts
Skrill, NetellerInstant deposit, fast withdrawalOften excluded from welcome bonuses: check the terms

A small deposit is a good way to test a casino

Before trusting a casino with a larger amount, a modest first deposit lets you check the essentials: does the cashier work with your payment method, does support answer, does identity verification go smoothly? If the minimum withdrawal allows it, make a first withdrawal too: it is the best test of how serious a casino is. Our withdrawal tests show the times we observed casino by casino.

⚠️ A small deposit is not a small risk

A €10 deposit is easy to repeat, which is exactly what makes it deceptive: five small deposits in an evening add up to €50. Set a weekly or monthly budget, use the deposit limits in your casino account, and stop when you reach it. If gambling becomes hard to control, our Responsible gambling page points you to help.

Checklist before a small deposit

  • Check the bonus minimum deposit, tier by tier
  • Check the minimum withdrawal in the terms
  • Work out the wagering amount (deposit + bonus, or bonus only?)
  • Pick a payment method without disproportionate fees
  • Plan a withdrawal method if you deposit with a prepaid voucher
  • Set a deposit limit in your account

Frequently asked questions

What is the usual minimum deposit at an online casino?

Most often €20 to unlock the welcome bonus, and €10 at a few casinos. The minimum can also depend on the payment method: prepaid vouchers start at €10, and some casinos set no minimum for crypto.

Can I get a welcome bonus with a €10 deposit?

Yes, at casinos whose first bonus tier starts at €10. With such a small deposit, run the wagering numbers first: when wagering applies to deposit + bonus, the amount you must bet can exceed what your balance covers on average.

Can I deposit just €5?

It is rare at casinos that take euros. Minimums of 5 are mostly found at crypto casinos, in dollars, and network fees can then eat a big share of such a small amount.

Is the minimum deposit the same as the minimum withdrawal?

No, they are two separate rules. The minimum withdrawal is often higher than the minimum deposit and can reach €100 at some casinos: check it before playing on a small budget.

Is a small deposit a good way to test a casino?

Yes. A modest first deposit lets you check the cashier, support and identity verification before committing more. Test a withdrawal too if the minimum withdrawal allows it.
