🌈 Our Le Bandit Review

Released in August 2023, Le Bandit quickly became one of Hacksaw Gaming's most searched-for slots. The setting is a cartoon version of France — baguettes, cheese, wanted posters — starring a small-time burglar. Behind the humour sits a serious mechanic: a 6x5 cluster-pays grid where every win sets up the next one.

Cascades: one win leads to another

Wins form from groups of matching symbols. When a group pays, its symbols vanish, the rest drop down and new ones fall in from above. The sequence keeps going as long as a new win forms. Everything else in the game builds on this.

Golden Squares and the Rainbow: the heart of the game

Every winning symbol leaves a Golden Square behind. The longer the cascade chain, the more of the grid turns gold. If a Rainbow symbol lands during the sequence, every Golden Square activates and reveals:

• 🪙coins in bronze, silver or gold, worth up to 4x, 25x and 500x your stake;
• 🍀four-leaf clovers, which multiply neighbouring coins and pots of gold;
• 🍯pots of gold, which collect every visible coin. As long as a new pot appears, the Golden Squares reactivate for another round.

In the base game, Golden Squares are cleared at the end of the sequence if no Rainbow has landed. That's what makes every cascade matter: a long chain without a Rainbow only pays its base wins, while the same chain with one can turn a session around.

Two bonuses, one big difference

3 scatters trigger Luck of the Bandit: 8 free spins where Golden Squares stay in place until a Rainbow arrives, then reset. 4 scatters trigger All That Glitters Is Gold: 12 free spins where Golden Squares never disappear. Each Rainbow then activates a grid that only keeps growing — this is where the 10,000x lives.

Le Bandit demo: what it is good for

Most casinos carrying Hacksaw Gaming let you launch Le Bandit in demo mode, with play credits and no deposit. It is useful for one specific thing: seeing how often the Rainbow lands and what Golden Squares really pay over a few hundred spins. Two limits to keep in mind: the demo doesn't tell you which RTP the casino runs for real money (check the game rules), and a lucky bonus buy in demo proves nothing over the long run.

Medium volatility: who is it for?

Hacksaw Gaming is known for extreme slots. Le Bandit is the exception at medium volatility (3/5): cascades and base-game coins keep a session ticking more steadily than Wanted Dead or a Wild. The max win is still rare (around 1 in 14 million spins per the studio). It's a good way into the Hacksaw catalogue if you find the very volatile titles too dry.
